Technology / Access Control

Access control that connects people, spaces and sites.

Digital control for doors, gates and sensitive zones — with permission models, visitor management and multi-site visibility. The entrance scene is illustrative and does not show a customer site.

Security concept / In practice

How the components work together in practice.

Who gets access, and when

Access control starts with determining which people may use which doors, gates or sensitive zones, and at what times. An access permissions plan turns these requirements into verifiable rules instead of giving everyone the same access.

Roles and permissions

Roles and user groups bundle recurring access rights for employees and responsible personnel. Responsibilities for granting, changing and revoking permissions are defined. When someone changes roles or leaves, rights that are no longer needed must be revoked.

Including visitors and contractors

Guests, suppliers and contractors often need access limited by time or area. Visitor management connects registration, approval and the issuing of appropriate permissions with reception and gatehouse procedures; sensitive areas remain subject to separate rules.

Managing multiple sites centrally

With multi-site access, shared roles and site-specific exceptions can be organised in a central overview. Deciding who maintains permissions, approves changes and documents them remains an organisational matter. HB DETECTLINE plans these concepts from Darmstadt for the Rhine-Main region and projects throughout Germany.

Connecting access control with video and personnel

An unusual access attempt can be reviewed according to defined rules and assessed with available video context. Reception or security personnel carry out the agreed checking and reporting duties. The specific technical integration depends on the systems in place.

ACCESS / COORDINATED PROCEDURES

Organise access around people, areas and sites

From a gate or barrier to a building entrance, access credentials and permissions can be structured to suit agreed procedures. This illustrates one possible flow; the actual design depends on the site and the solution selected.

  1. 01

    Site & vehicle entrance

A gate or barrier can serve as an initial control point.

  2. 02

    Access credential

Card reader or, where provided, mobile access.

  3. 03

    Role & permission

Consider staff, visitors and contractors according to agreed roles.

  4. 04

    Building & sensitive areas

Organise entry to doors and areas in line with the applicable authorisation.

  5. 05

    Video & personnel

Coordinate with video oversight and reception or a gatehouse where appropriate.

  6. 06

    Multiple sites

Account for site-specific procedures and responsibilities in the concept.

Suitable credentials, roles and integrations are determined for each project. The diagram describes possibilities, not a blanket promise of functionality.
